Suppliments/Medigap
Their are 32 companies that offer Medicare supplements in Virginia. The companies with the plans they offer and their prices are listed in the Virginia Department of Insurance website. The coverage is the same only the prices are different. I choose the companies that I represent based on lowest cost, financial strength, customer service, regulatory history and price slope. My companies include: Gerber, Omaha, Anthem, Humana, AARP, Medico, Assured, Cigna, Transamerica and Manhattan.
Medicare Advantage Plans Part C
Due to the reduction in government funding and stars rating requirements the future of Advantage Plans is uncertain. Companies are routinely entering and leaving the market as the governments rules and funding change. The recent shift from PFFS and PPO plans to HMO's should continue. The future appears to be HMO plans with the use of local health centers owned by the insurance companies becoming a requirement of coverage. This model is already being used by some companies. Others companies offer lower out of pocket costs for the voluntary use of there regional health centers. I offer the plans from; Anthem, AARP, Aetna and Humana. (Some plans are not available in every county.)
Medicare part D
Whether you're looking at a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage plan prescription cost is generally an important part of the decision process. Combined their are 29 different options. I always use the Medicare website to evaluate all of the available plans to find your best fit at the lowest cost. I can assist you with enrollment with all of the companies. The carriers I'm contracted with are: First Health, Silver Script, AARP, Humana, Cigna, Aetna and Anthem. I can access all available plans through the www.medicare.gov website.
Dental and Vision
These plans are difficult for seniors. Only a couple of companies offer policies to individuals over 65. The plans are generaly not cost effective.
